Copper casting is the process of forming products from copper alloys, widely used in machinery, industrial components, and spare parts due to copper’s excellent properties, including corrosion resistance, conductivity, and strength at low temperatures.
This process typically employs copper alloys such as M1, M2, and M3, which contain 99.5% to 99.9% copper, tailored to specific casting needs.
Pure copper is rarely used due to its poor fluidity and tendency to absorb gases, which can cause defects. Instead, alloys are preferred, requiring careful mold preparation and charge composition monitoring. A specialized flux is applied to protect the molten metal from air exposure, ensuring high-quality castings.
